Lisa Bates

Estate Planning Paralegal

Lisa Bates was born in Tallahassee, Florida, but she moved from coast to coast four different times growing up, as a military brat. She played Division 1 women's college soccer at Georgia Southern University, and she graduated from the University of Florida law school with Honors in 2004. She practiced law for several years in downtown Miami, starting in litigation and ending with a transactional position at Greenberg Traurig. She and her husband, who is from Pensacola, moved here in 2013.

Lisa took a break from law for many years to raise their four children, including a set of twins. While she was mostly at home with them during this timeframe, she did also enjoy giving back to the community in her "free time", coaching recreational soccer for 12 years for the City of Pensacola and volunteering at her children's public elementary school. She also served on many local boards and held part-time teaching positions and substitute taught at several local schools for many years.

Most recently, Lisa worked part-time as inhouse counsel for local HR company, Landrum. At Coastal Probate Trust & Elder Law, she has enjoyed serving clients and their families and guiding them throughout their Estate Planning design. When she is not working, you can find Lisa at the farm in Molino where she and her daughter ride their horse, or on a various sport field or court cheering on their children. Her family loves to take trips out West to ski in the winter and hike during the summer. In addition to their horse, they also claim three rescue dogs and one silly rescued bunny. Two other fun facts about Lisa are that she used to participate in 3-day eventing with her horse when she was younger, and she was also a French exchange student at age 16.
